Gwyneth hails from Llanarmon, Eifionydd, and is a prestige singer-songwriter, author and playwright. Her first album Wyneb Dros Dro is a mixture of country and folk presenting simple and poignant country songs. Gwyneth admires artists who attain a unique interpretation of divergent styles such as Gillian Welch and Joni Mitchell.
Gwyneths unique interpretations create an intriguing and magical canvas that mesmerizes music lovers. Her mellow and cosy songs linger in your mind for hours.
She draws inspiration from personal experiences as we hear on Cofia fi at, a nostalgic song about her childhood in Eifionydd. Gwyneth’s motivation rises from emotion and her challenge is to express this through her tunes and lyrics.
She loves to perform with various artists and this is conveyed on her album. We have the opportunity to hear Jôs (Maharishi) on the pedal steel and Alun Tan Lan’s charming voice, along with his talents on the banjo, accordion and mandolin.
Wyneb dros Dro is produced by Dyl Mei, Alun Tan Lan and Gwyneth Glyn and was recorded at Blaen y Cae studios, Garndolbenmaen.
Gwyneth studied Philosophy & Theology at Oxford, today she enjoys writing plays, poetry and novels, and performing. |
