RELEASED: 22nd MARCH 2004
RECORDED: Blaen-Y-Cae Studio, Garndolbenmaen
PRODUCED BY: Dyl Mei & Texas Radio Band
From the first play of their bedroom 4-track demo vision for the album, it was something we had to release. Not knowing how things were done, how we'd do it, if it'd happen, or get finished; we took the leap of faith to go ahead and record it on our yet to be named, yet to be setup, yet to do anything at all, a total none existent (on paper) label.
This record is the result of a 10 day & night long, close quarters, session in a studio above Porthmadog, living, eating, drinking and sleeping in the live room in the searing heat of summer 2003, with a bunch of tolerable and wilful individuals. To produce what is an eclectic piece of work establishing their unique identity.
The diversity of the record quickly became (and becomes) apparent, when you get the incredibly catchy sample driven power pop "Chwaraeon" with it's chugging guitars, to the bluesy boozy melancholic title track; "Baccta' Crackin" speared by pedal steel. Original becomes a word association, as the bands "Love Is Informal" track fuses melodic indie guitar rock, with country hooks, sporadic lyrics, and an unconventional song structure with "more twists and turns than most bands manage across entire albums" - SoundNation.
An album of uncommon emotional depth, acid-bubblegum quirkyness, a psychedelic pop crossover.

I fear the joke has been lost on me"
